Information

Dear Parents,
In order that you can start getting prepared for Patterdale, here is a suggested kit list.
Please involve your child in the organization and packing.  They are more likely to bring everything home if they know what was packed!  Please ensure all items are clearly labeled, biro or marker pen is fine.  We would like to emphasize that old clothes and trainers are preferable.

General
Comfortable traveling clothes
Night clothes ( slippers if desired)
Towel( 1 for showers and 1 for wet activities)
Wash kit
Waterproof trousers and coat (if you have them)
Indoor shoes
Routine medication if needed
Named water bottle
Teddy (optional!)
Book and magazine ( optional)
Disposable camera (optional)
A bin bag for wet clothes to be kept separate from dry clothes

Activities
  • As there will be 2 wet activities, at least 4 changes of clothes are necessary.  This includes t-shirts, sweatshirts/fleeces, tracksuit bottoms, socks and underwear.  (Jeans are not suitable as they are heavy and uncomfortable when wet.)
  • Swimwear ( as a base layer)
  • Hat and gloves
  • Thick socks – several pairs
  • 2 pairs of trainers ( one old pair for wet activities only)
  • Walking boots if you have them. (The centre does have a good supply in many sizes)
  • No money is needed and as previously stated, no mobile phones or computer games
  • Lunch for the first day in a small back pack or plastic bag:  We will be stopping at Tebay services for a snack en route, and will have lunch on arrival at Patterdale.

All safety and specialist equipment will be provided by the centre: helmets, lifejackets, wetsuits etc.

Please note that we are only away for two nights and your child must be able to carry her own bag!
Kind Regards,
Year 4 Teachers
